Zein gained her Bachelor's degree in Architectural Engineering from the University of Jordan in 2014. In 2016 she obtained a Master's degree in Sustainable Environmental Design in Architecture from the University of Liverpool with a distinction. During her bachelors she did an internship in SCAU Studio - Italy, a leading architectural office in Sicily, in which she developed an interest in Sustainability.

In the short time between completing her degrees and joining the Welsh School of Architecture, she practised architecture and worked in academia as a Lecturer. She also participated in an International workshop in Greece (IFAS2016) and planned several regional events as a member of Forum Architetti Mediterranei (FAM).

Post-Occupancy and Performance Evaluation of Kinetic Climate Adaptive Façades

The aim of the research is to evaluate the performance of Climate Adaptive Façades (CAF) and kinetic façades specifically as an energy efficient solution to buildings. Adaptive types of façades have recently become a potential solution to building industry energy-related problems, as opposed to static and
unresponsive façades. Many publications have discussed or modelled the potentials of CAF and several CAF projects have been built around the world, but none have investigated the real life potentials of such façades. The research will deal with the actual performance evaluation by studying a building with an
applied Climate Adaptive Façade and assessing its efficiency and sustainability.
