Carlo Scarpa and the Brion Cemetery: Poetic experience and emotional wellbeing

This research is exploring the possibility of poetry in architecture as an enriching vehicle that aims at enhancing the emotional and existential experience of the person within the built environment. It has as its purpose to articulate an interpretation of how architecture can act in such a manner, by arguing that value can be found in the experiential qualities of poetry. Key themes and questions are being explored through the Brion-Vega cemetery of architect Carlo Scarpa, at San Vito d’ Altivole, in Italy.
