Trosolwg
I have a 1st Class Honours in BA Spanish from Cardiff University. During my degree I completed a year abroad at the University of Granada, Spain. I have C1 level Spanish and I have also completed beginners courses in Italian and Catalan.
In my spare time I enjoy freelancing, writing film reviews and interviewing independent filmmakers for online film magazines.

I am currently writing a thesis examining the agency of children in Spanish Art house cinema and contemporary gothic horror. The working title is: The Agentic Child: Redefining the Child Seer in Contemporary Spanish Horror Film.

International Conference: Chidhood and Nation in World Cinema, Royal Holloway
I attended one day of the Leverhulme funded network conference where I heard multiple papers examining the role of the child in cinema from around the world and it has been extremely beneficial to my research. (18-19 April 2016)
Annual Conference of the Association of Hispanists of Great Britain and Ireland (AHGBI), Cardiff University
As a postgraduate student I helped with the running of this conference whilst being able to attend some interesting panels from scholars in the field of Hispanic Studies. (10-12 April 2017)
‘You Talkin’ to Me?’: Dialogue and Communication in Film
This conference was organized by the Interdisciplinary Film and Visual Culture Research (IFVCR) Network, Cardiff University in the School of Journalism, Media and Cultural Studies.
I attended as a delegate and heard some great papers examining the dialogue and also non-verbal communication in contemporary cinema. (5-6 June 2017)
Transnational Memory, Translation and Adaptation, Cardiff School of Modern Languages & Institute of Modern Languages Research
I attended and helped with the running of this event which analysed how intermedial adaptations and intercultural acts of translation form an integral part of transnational memory debates and politics. (31 May 2017)
