I am working for a part-time PhD in ecclesiastical law, with Professor Norman Doe.

In my day job I am an Employment Judge, having been called to the Bar (Gray's Inn) in 1991. I served in the Royal Navy until 2002 up to the rank of Commander, leaving to become a Commissioner at the Criminal Cases Review Commission, investigating miscarriages of justice. I became a salaried judge in 2009.

I am on the Committee of the Ecclesiastical Law Society, and organise their regular London lectures. I am a book reviewer for the Ecclesiastical Law Journal, am a member of the Law and Religion Scholars Network, and teach on the Cardiff University LLM in Canon Law.
