Overview

PhD researcher in the School of Geography and Planning. Recipient of ESRC Doctoral Training Partnership 2022, in collaboration with the Welsh Refugee Council, Oasis Cardiff, Cardiff Council and End Youth Homelessness Cymru (EYHC). The study aims to better understand the different systems involved in organising how refugees experience homelessness and housing difficulties in Cardiff, in the context of the Welsh Government's 'Nation of Sanctuary' plan and the wider politics around immigration and homelessness prevention in the UK.

Prior Qualifications:

  • (2020-2021) MPhil in Sociology (of Marginality and Exclusion) at the University of Cambridge. In collaboration with community members recruited from four organisations providing support for migrants and refugees in England, my research examined how women with 'No Recourse to Public Funds' [NRPF] experience homelessness and access to support services in the 'hostile environment'.
  • (2015-2019) Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and French at the University of Bristol (1st Class Hons).
