earth underwent significant climatic changes throughout the
glacial-interglacial cycles over the last 1.5 million years. I am fascinated
by those periods of change and how they are recorded in a variety of natural
archives. One important mechanism leading to climate variability is
atmospheric pCO2. Throughout the last 800,000 years pCO2 has been recorded in
ice core air bubbles. However, further in the past, its reconstruction still
proposes a challenge. I am interested in improving the currently established
proxies and applying them to oceanic fossils. As a result, we will hopefully
be able to investigate important climate transitions in the Plio-Pleistocene.
