An examination of the hubris and how through a re-examination of primary evidence, it can be seen as closer to what modern readers would consider pride than has been previously thought.

This examination of the sources provides evidence that hubris or pride was a constant factor ancient and medieval epics and was constant, yet changing throughout the period 800BC-AD1400.
