I started my PhD at the School of Modern Languages in 2018, to study "European social dialogue". The research is funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) in collaboration with DTP Wales. The studentship included a MSc in Social Science Research Methods, which I completed in 2018.
From 2009 to 2013 I studied a BA in Japanese and Spanish (Cardiff). In 2016, I completed a MA in European Studies (Cardiff). My undergraduate degree included a year abroad where I had six months work-experience in Spain and six months at Chuo University in Japan.

My PhD explores the relationship between social dialogue at national and European levels. It examines the mechanisms of social dialogue comparatively in Spain and Germany, and their articulation with EU level social dialogue, in the context of policy development in the areas of work-life balance and digitalisation. The aim of the study is to explore the transposability of EU policies on social dialogue to national settings and the context under which European social dialogue may give a voice to trade unions.
My PhD is being supervised by Dr Nick Parsons and Dr Jonathan Kirkup.
