Panalpina employees now benefit from the global PACE program and the Panalpina Research Centre helps them on their way.
Developing internal talent is crucial to Panalpina’s growth, and as one of the milestones to support this goal, the first generation of the Panalpina Accelerated Career Entry (PACE) program was launched in 2016.
The two-year program aims to fast-track employees into future careers and to build a pipeline for key positions in finance, logistics, and Energy and Project Solutions (EPS). The Panalpina Research Centre delivers key training in the final stage of the program.
Participants are nominated by the local and regional functional teams, involving human resources, and validated by the corporate functions. A new group of employees joins the program every year.
On the right track
Over two years, PACE participants build their expertise through a specific curriculum including functional training, business induction, on-the-job training with their direct manager, mentoring with a graduate of the Navigating Our Future program, and international projects directly related to the business. Participants will master the challenges presented during this period and continue working with commitment to develop their careers within Panalpina.
Preparing for the future
In the final stage of the program, the participants spend one week at the Panalpina Research Centre at Cardiff University where they receive training regarding cross-functional collaboration, presentation skills, innovation, and talk about self-leadership, team building and career planning. They then visit Panalpina’s offices in London, where they get to know the local team. Accompanied by the functional leaders, PACE participants receive their graduation diplomas.
Karsten Breum, Chief Human Resources Officer, congratulated the most recent graduates for completing the first full PACE program.“It’s exciting for me to see that the program we started two years ago has been a success, both for the participants and for Panalpina. I appreciate your commitment and I look forward to seeing how you contribute to building our company in the future.”
It is important to keep up the momentum and further develop these graduates and the next PACE generations - they are the future of Panalpina.
