Mathematics Head of School elected President of the British Society of Rheology

Professor Tim Phillips and Professor Gareth McKinley (MIT) the President of the Society of Rheology, the American sister society of the BSR.

Professor Tim Phillips, Head of Mathematics at Cardiff University, was recently elected President of the British Society of Rheology (BSR) for a two year term in office.

Tim has already began his two year presidency and is very much looking forward to the challenge, Tim said “It was an honour to be elected president of the BSR, the work they do is incredible and I look forward to a challenging and rewarding two years at this fantastic organisation”.

The BSR is an organisation that strives to promote science and dissemination of knowledge in the areas of pure and applied rheology. It has expanded greatly and now has over 400 members, of whom about a third are outside the U.K. and distributed widely throughout the world.

Tim will remain the Head of School for Mathematics and the School wish him the very best on his exciting new venture.
