Two Cardiff University medical students have won a top award at a recent film awards.

Natalie Ellis and Munzir Quraishy won Best Short Film at the International Film Festival of Wales 2016 for their film 'How are you?'.

The film looks at how the stigma of mental health can make the struggles of mental illness even worse. Three sufferers talk about their stories of illness, how stigma affected them and how we can beat stigma.

The film was made as part of the MBBCh Medicine curriculum. Each year students are given the opportunity to explore in-depth areas of medicine which are of particular interest to them. These are known as Student Selected Components (SSC's).

Natalie and Munzir would like to thank all the people at Diff Films (Cardiff University Film Society) for their help and support in the production of the film.

The awards took place on Saturday 26th November 2016 at the Cineworld Cinema, Cardiff.

The film has also been included in the official selection of the Indiewise Virtual Film Festival and the Early Bird International Student Film Festival in Bulgaria.
