The lab is designed to make the environment as natural as possible while allowing experimental control. It includes a significant upgrade in both visualisation and computational fields.
Our equipment
Virtual Reality
Including a set of 3D glasses, special helmet devices, a high-end 3D projector, and a Kinect based sensor system. The developed applications combine BIM, Unity 3D computer game engine, and 3D projector/helmet/glasses allowing users to immerse themselves in a 3D virtual environment to “feel” the building or infrastructure and explore design alternatives.
Building Information Modelling based Integrated Project Delivery
This utilizes a 92” high quality multi-touch wall and supporting computing infrastructure to provide 3D/nD Building Information Modelling (BIM) based Integrated Project Delivery using universal shared single model for building / infrastructure. The solution supports delivery teams working at any stage during a building / infrastructure life cycle, when clients, contractors, designers and other stakeholder come together to finalize the design, refurbishing or construction conceptual model via the interactive communication with the digital models.
