Feeding Stonehenge (primary resources)

  • CalendarAvailable on request
  • Clock outlineFlexible

This resource suite provides six activities to teach science at primary level, whilst also learning about the Stone Age.

The activities have been created using evidence from scientists and archaeologists working at sites close to Stonehenge, such as Durrington Walls. They are a great way of showing how scientific skills and knowledge can be used to find out how people lived in the past.

Activities link to learning about teeth, a balanced diet, the digestive system and working scientifically, all set in the context of the Stone Age.

You can use these activities when learning about Stone Age, or when learning about teeth, food and diet. The resources are based on the archaeological finds at Stonehenge and nearby sites, which have been used to find out more about the lives of the people who lived in these times.

The resources are:

  • Working like a Scientist
  • Food and Diet
  • Healthy Diet
  • Tremendous Teeth
  • The Human Digestive System
  • Making Cheese.
