Confident Futures

  • CalendarJanuary, February, March, April, July, October, November, December
  • Clock outlineUp to 2 hours

This project is available to looked after children and care leavers aged 14 and over who live in South East Wales.

Young people who join the project will have the opportunity to meet on a regular basis with current university students who act as mentors.

Young people will take part in:

  • university taster days
  • workshops to support their studies and applications for college, university and employment
  • social nights (such as film or games nights)
  • group trips (in previous trips pupils have gone to the theatre, bowling and Cardiff's Winter Wonderland).

Those who join the project will also be invited to the Confident Futures Summer Residential to experience life as a student at university.

The project currently runs monthly from October to Easter but is under development and is likely to change. The Summer residential school takes place in July.

We are currently re-developing the Confident Futures programme and some of these details may change.
