Why are girls less likely to be diagnosed with ADHD than boys?

Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a neurodevelopmental condition that affects about 5% of children and 3% of adults. ADHD is less likely to be diagnosed in females and when it is recognised, diagnosis tends to be at a later age than in males.

Join us to hear from Dr Joanna Martin (PhD 2015), who is a Senior Research Fellow at Cardiff University, about the latest research on possible explanations for this observed sex difference in ADHD diagnosis. Hear about how using anonymised NHS patient records is feeding into this active research topic.
