Widening access

Careers and Role Model
Grangetown Careers and Role Model Week.

Over the past four years, Community Gateway has worked closely with partners and colleagues at Cardiff University to make Higher Education courses and careers more accessible for Grangetown residents.

Once a year, Career and Role Model week takes place at Grange Pavilion where professional and academic staff from Cardiff University offer local people support with university applications, careers advice, job interview coaching, mentorship and a chance to visit the University.

Staff and students from Cardiff University's School of Medicine have also launched PACE, a mentoring project for school children, aiming to provide guidance and support to ensure students have the correct qualifications and experience in order to gain a place at university to study medicine. This will be a five-year project and success will be closely monitored to demonstrate project impact and success.
