Membership advantages

Healthcare Sciences group
Welsh medium Healthcare Sciences students with lecturer Gaynor Williams

Each Cardiff University Coleg member is also a member of our Branch.

Coleg membership is open to any student or staff member in a higher education institution in Wales. Not only does Branch membership offer funding opportunities for both staff and students, it also means that you can join a group of like minded people and take part in a variety of social events. The Cardiff Branch participates in the National Eisteddfod, Tafwyl (which is sponsored by Cardiff University) and other Welsh cultural events.

Resources and scholarships

If you're taking a module that's supported by the Coleg and which is being offered via its online learning portal, Y Porth, the Coleg's e-learning platform, you'll need to join as soon as possible. Y Porth is a valuable resource for Welsh medium staff and students which is based on the popular Blackboard system.

Membership also means that students can apply for the Coleg's Undergraduate and Master Scholarships. Staff membership means you can apply for funding for your School via the Coleg's Academic Staffing Scheme.
