Aberdare Hall

With its well-equipped meeting rooms and comfortable dining facilities, Aberdare Hall has much to offer all different types of events.

Built in 1893 to promote women's education in Wales, Aberdare Hall is centrally located, within walking distance of most of the academic schools and only a brief walk from the city and civic centre.

A full event catering service is also available, from refreshments and buffet lunches to formal conference dinners.

Meeting rooms

The main building, known as Old Hall, has three executive meeting rooms, all located on the ground floor. The  rooms are comfortable and traditional in style and have the following facilities available:

  • full range of audio-visual equipment (please note that room capacity may change slightly if audio/visual equipment is required in the room)
  • free WiFi
  • flip chart and whiteboard
  • refreshments and buffets can be provided in all rooms to suit requirements.

Isabel Bruce Room

  • accommodates up to 20 delegates in a boardroom style
  • portable data projector, laptop and DVD player provided at an additional cost.
  • 3D room view

Joan Buckingham Room

  • accommodates up to 24 delegates theatre-style and 16 delegates boardroom-style
  • portable data projector, laptop and DVD player provided at an additional cost.
  • 3D room view

Kathleen Ede Room

  • accommodates up to 30 delegates theatre-style and up to 20 boardroom-style
  • portable data projector, laptop and DVD player provided as standard.

Dining

Aberdare Hall offers an extensive catering service and is the ideal location for a variety of functions. Our daily services, Monday to Friday, include cooked to order menu items from the restaurant and barista coffees and light snacks from the café.

Aberdare Hall Restaurant is also available for functions, conference dinners, banquets, wedding receptions and presentations. Private luncheons and dinners can also be hosted in the Isabel Bruce Room and the Joan Buckingham Room.

Please note that there are no parking facilities available at this venue. However, parking is available on a pay and display basis in the surrounding areas.
