Second Language Revision Day
A revision day for more than 200 second language pupils was hosted at the School last week. Pupils from all over south Wales spent the day attending interactive language and literature sessions provided by lecturers from the School. The aim was to cover topics taught on the AS and A-Level syllabus in order to help them succeed in exams.
It was a unique chance for them to broaden their knowledge of the language and its literature. It was also an opportunity for them to experience student life and get a taste of university lectures.
The day was organised by Dr Angharad Naylor, a lecturer employed by the Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol to oversee second language provision in the School. ‘It was great to welcome so many sixth form pupils to The School of Welsh today. They enjoyed a variety of interactive session and we hope the pupils will be able to use the experiences whilst preparing for their Welsh exams’, she later remarked.
