Walking the line between 'fact' and 'fiction'
Dr Rhiannon Marks, a lecturer in the School of Welsh, has just published a monograph entitled, ‘Pe gallwn mi luniwn lythyr’: golwg ar waith Menna Elfyn. Published by University of Wales Press, it is an experimental volume which offers various interpretations of the work of the prominent contemporary Welsh poet, Menna Elfyn, and discusses our relationship with literature andthe way we perceive it.
The book gives a fresh perspective on the poet’s work, experimenting in Welsh for the first time with an epistolary style of literary criticism, through a series of fictional letters. This is a fresh, experimental volume which breathes new life into the field of Welsh critical theory.
