Second Language Revision Day
A revision day for second language pupils was hosted at the School last week. Nearly 150 sixth formers from local schools were welcomed to the event which was held on Friday 25 January. They spent the day attending language and literature sessions provided by lecturers from the School. The aim was to cover topics taught on the AS and A-Level syllabus in order to help them succeed in exams.
It was a unique chance for them to broaden their knowledge of the language and its literature. It was also an opportunity for them to experience student life and get a taste of university lectures.
The day was organised by Dr Angharad Naylor, a lecturer employed by the Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol to oversee second language provision in the School. ‘It was great to see sixth form pupils so eager about using the Welsh language’, she later remarked.
