Winning the crown at the Powys Eisteddfod

A student at the School of Welsh has won the crown at the Powys Eisteddfod. Elin Blake is in her final year studying for a degree in Welsh and Music and is taking the Creative Writing module, led by Dr Llion Pryderi Roberts. The Eisteddfod was held on Friday 26 October in Machynlleth and Elin won the prize for three creative pieces in various styles on the subject of ‘conflict’.

Elin said: “It was quite a surprise! This is the first time I’ve ever competed for the crown. The fact that the Eisteddfod was being held in Machynlleth (my home town) and the fact that I know the girl that created the crown, made winning even more special.”

Congratulations Elin.
