Welsh Experience Day for GCSE Students

On Friday 11 March the School of Welsh’s annual Welsh Experience Day was held. More than 30 pupils attended, all of them preparing for their Second Language Welsh GCSE examination in the summer.

The day was an opportunity for them to practise their Welsh, learn more about the School of Welsh and about careers in the Welsh workplace.  Various activities were held –  workshops with our language tutors, careers sessions with the presenters of the television programme ‘Stwnsh’, and a computer session focussing on the ‘BBC Bitesize’ programme. At the end of the day there was an award ceremony for those pupils who created the best Welsh posters on the theme ‘Our Area’.

Very positive feedback was received from the pupils. The day was also an opportunity for the School to reinforce its  links with local second language schools.
