Sam Lloyd-Williams

One of the School’s third year students appeared on the BBC Wales programme Welsh Tenor on 30 March 2010. Sam Lloyd-Williams from Chepstow is a young tenor and a member of the National Youth Opera of Wales. A film crew followed him for a whole day, focussing on various aspects of his life including his academic work in the School of Welsh.

Sam is used to the limelight. He sings in medieval banquets at Cardiff Castle and Caldicot Castle and has also appeared in advertisements and numerous television programmes such as Merlin, Casualty and Pobol y Cwm. In the spring he will go on a short tour with the Welsh National Opera and participate in workshops for young people across Wales.
