Fitzalan High School ‘Welsh in Business’ Conference
In December the School of Welsh was invited to take part in the annual Welsh in Business Conference at Fitzalan High School, Cardiff. Employers gathered together to address Year 9 pupils about the importance of the Welsh language in the workplace, giving them the opportunity to receive information at first hand before choosing their GCSE subjects.
More than 200 pupils attended the conference. They were informed of the wide range of career options available to those with a degree in Welsh. Sarah Davies, Head of Welsh at Fitzalan said “this was our most successful conference to date as the children’s response to the contributions has been so positive.”
The School of Welsh will build on this link with Fitzalan by contributing to similar events in the future.
