Ceri Elen is a tutor on the School’s Scriptwriting, Modern Drama and Creative Writing modules. She graduated from Cardiff University with a first class degree in English and Welsh in 2006, before returning to complete an MA in Welsh (Creative Writing route) in 2007 (with an AHRC scholarship). She then trained as an actor at The Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, before returning to Cardiff University where she is studying for her PhD (with an AHRC scholarship). In addition to teaching, Ceri works as a freelance author, playwright and actor. She won the Drama Medal at the Urdd Eisteddfod (Denbighshire) in 2006, and the Literature Medal at the Urdd Eisteddfod (Carmarthenshire) in 2007. Her first novel ‘Pentre Saith’ was shortlisted for a Tir na n-Og award in 2013.
