Improving Language Skills (for second year medical students)
The main aim of this module is to give students the confidence to deal with the world of medicine through the medium of Welsh, and to make students aware of the importance of bilingualism in patient care. You do not need an A level in Welsh to take this module.
The module is a combination of practical workshops, and lectures by guest speakers. You will also have the opportunity to discuss your subject through informal discussions and formal presentations.
The module is assessed by means of a short test at the end of the module.
Here are some of the comments made by students who attended the course:
"It was a great help because I hadn’t written in Welsh for ages."
"Very useful!"
"I’ve got a lot more confidence now when I speak Welsh (and when I write in Welsh)."
