Welcome to the web pages of the Vice-Chancellor’s Office which have been designed to offer an overview of our activities and give contact information for the Vice-Chancellor and members of his team.
The Office provides a focal point for the co-ordination and integration of University business, providing advice and support to the Vice-Chancellor* on the full-range of strategic, policy and management matters. The team provides academic leadership for the achievement of the University’s strategic goals including building on the many excellent existing interdisciplinary initiatives across the University. The Vice-Chancellor’s Office works closely with the Administrative Directorates in University–wide strategic initiatives including early-stage strategy development, philanthropic goal-setting and corporate fundraising; and the Directors also play an important role in advising the Vice-Chancellor on the management of the University in pursuing its vision, aims and objectives.
Together with the Directors, senior staff in the Vice-Chancellor’s Office form the University Board which serves as a communication and management forum, and plays an important role in advising the Vice-Chancellor on the development and delivery of the University’s Strategy.
The Vice-Chancellor’s Office also sponsors and co-ordinates a number of lecture series, including the annual Hadyn Ellis Distinguished Lecture and the Pro Vice-Chancellors’ Equality and Diversity Lecture Series, and hosts important events in the University’s calendar.
