Higher Education Roadshow

The Higher Education Roadshow visits schools and colleges throughout Wales and primarily targets areas where there are low progression rates to higher education.

The aims of the Roadshow are to:

  • raise awareness of higher education
  • promote the benefits that higher education can provide
  • motivate pupils
  • provide information, advice and guidance.

Schools and Colleges

The Roadshow runs a school assembly programme enabling us to present to a whole year group in each school. There are separate presentations for groups of Year 10 & 11 pupils which are delivered by experienced members of staff. These presentations include a quiz about overcoming common misconceptions about university, a DVD showing the benefits of higher education, and a student life presentation. Each year, the Higher Education Roadshow makes around 100 visits to schools and colleges and more than 15,000 pupils benefit from its work.

Partnership

The Higher Education Roadshow is a collaborative project between Cardiff University and Cardiff Metropolitan University (formally UWIC). Originally established in 1998, it is managed by Cardiff University.
