University Graduate College Programme

View the University Graduate College Programme as an interactive digital magazine

The University Graduate College Programme is designed to offer you opportunities to develop the skills you need to complete your research degree on time and to enhance your employability. It incorporates generic personal and professional skills and discipline specific skills, and is organised by the University's Graduate College.

All the events in the programme are open to Cardiff University research students (MPhil, MRes, PhD, MD, MCh, and professional doctorates).  Visiting researchers may be granted access by the Graduate College, if space is available.

General information about the structure of the Programme and advice on planning your skills development can be found on pages listed on the left menu.  A PDF version of the University Graduate College Brochure, which includes the descriptions and the schedule, is in the resource list on the right menu.

All workshops must be booked in advance via our web-based system at https://rssdp.cardiff.ac.uk which has the most up to date schedule of events for the current year.

The system allows you to browse the workshops and their descriptions by category, by date, or by key word.  Once you have selected a workshop, you must log in using your University username and password and request a place.  When you have been accepted onto a workshop, you will be sent an email of confirmation by Graduate College staff.

The system also allows you to manage your bookings: you can cancel a session and view all of your attended, confirmed and pending sessions; sessions, cancelled sessions, and pending sessions.  You are also able to print a transcript of all workshops you have attended.  More information about booking is available in the system itself, under the “Help” menu.

If you have any difficulty using the booking system, please contact us on 029 2087 0046 or email ugc@cardiff.ac.uk or “University Graduate College Programme” in Lotus Notes.
