The mission of the Systems Immunity Research Institute is to understand the role of the immune system in conditions such as cancer, infectious diseases, dementia, diabetes, heart disease and arthritis.

Through the invaluable contributions of our supporters, our researchers are using our knowledge of the immune system to develop preventative immunisations, novel diagnostics, and innovative treatments and immunotherapies to treat these important diseases. This crucial support for cutting-edge research ensures new therapies are translated from the laboratory bench to the hospital bedside.

How you can support systems immunity research at Cardiff University

Make a donation

Generous donations contribute significant funds toward systems immunity research, including cancer research every year. Gifts from individuals and organisations are crucial in securing the future of the Institute and making sure that our vital research continues.

Gifts in memory

Many people choose to make their donation in memory of a loved one. It’s a way to honour their memory that creates a legacy of hope. Remember your loved one with a name plaque in our memorial garden. Find out more.

Leave a gift in your Will

Gifts in Wills are a wonderful way to show your support and have a lasting impact on the future of systems immunity and cancer research. You can help improve diagnosis, treatment, and care for generations to come. Our Legacies Officer can help answer any questions you may have. Find out more about leaving a gift in your Will.

Fundraise

Fundraising at Cardiff University supports cancer research through the Future Leaders in Cancer Research (FLiCR) programme. Raising money for cancer research is a great way to make a difference and have fun. You choose how you fundraise – take on a challenge like the Cardiff Half Marathon or organise your own fundraising activity or event. 100% of the fundraising monies received by Cardiff University go directly to research. Anyone can fundraise for Cardiff University research and our Community Fundraising Officer is on hand to support you every step of the way.
