Get on your bike for Sustainability

Staff and students can take advantage of a free bike service or the opportunity to purchase a refurbished bike at bargain prices as part of the University’s annual Sustainability Week.

Running from 31^st October – 4^th November, the Week includes numerous events and initiatives aimed at involving the whole University community to come together to drive forward the Sustainable development agenda.

Bring your bike along to the Doctor Bike service and Cardiff Cycle Workshop mechanics will diagnose and repair any problems as well as share skills on basic bike maintenance.

The Doctor Bike service will take place in Main Building car park on Thursday 3^rd November, 10am – 4pm.

If you don’t own a bike there will be a bike sale run by the Cardiff Cycle Workshop team. This is a not-for-profit social enterprise that refurbishes unwanted bikes for public sale and for use in community projects.

The reconditioned bikes are fully serviced and perfectly safe, and range from £40 - £80. There is an exclusive offer for Cardiff University staff and students of a £10 cash back incentive for those who will be leaving Cardiff at the end of the academic year and wish to give their bike back.   

The bike sale will be held on Friday 4^th November 12 midday-2pm in Main Building car park.

Also available on Thursday and Friday at the University’s Students’ Union steps will be free UV cycle marking  - a joint initiative between the University’s Security & Portering Services and South Wales Police.
