Arrival & orientation
Once you have arrived in Cardiff there will be a comprehensive orientation programme to help you settle in.
Getting to Cardiff
Study abroad student Kristin explains what you should expect when you get off the plane.
Travelling to the UK via the Republic of Ireland
We advise against travelling to the UK via the Republic of Ireland (Dublin) unless you have obtained a visa prior to travelling.
Students who travel via Dublin without a pre-obtained visa will only be able to enter the UK as a tourist, and will therefore be required to leave the UK and re-enter from another country (i.e. France) to obtain Student Entry Clearance.
A free airport collection service operates from Heathrow and Cardiff airports over two days in September.
Students will be emailed with information about reaching campus. The date to arrive for the Spring semester of 2017 is Monday 16 January 2017. To find out more, please see our semester dates.
At the start of each semester our International Office provides an induction programme to new international students.
There are sessions specifically for Study Abroad students and a range of social events including a traditional Welsh folk dance called a Twmpath.
We'll send you more information about induction prior to your arrival.
