We are proud to have been one of the first UK universities to offer a dedicated facility for postgraduates.
The Graduate Centre complements our Academic Schools by offering additional resources of space, study and social facilities, as well as workshops and events for students.
Excellent study facilities
There are meeting rooms for workshops, project groups, seminars and presentations. Group study is welcomed in the Coffee Lounge, where you will also find additional computers for checking email.
The Reading Room has individual quiet study spaces, offering a welcome change from your regular library or School study area.
With wireless internet access throughout the Centre, wireless access to the University’s computing network and a dedicated IT room with networked computers, printers, scanner and a photocopier, the Graduate Centre is fully equipped for study and research.
Socialising at the Centre
This is the place to relax and meet friends for lunch or a coffee or to socialise after a day of study or research. It is a comfortable space with big-screen TVs, a Nintendo Wii and can also be booked for events.
Past and present Graduate Centre events include a Welcome Week, day trips, quiz nights, film screenings and seasonal parties. Students are encouraged to become involved in the planning of events.
Heath Park Postgraduate Space
Heath Park, the site shared by our Academic Schools and the University Hospital Wales, is where our healthcare-related courses are based.
The Postgraduate Space, which you can access 24/7 with a valid student ID card, consists of a study area and social space. The study area is for private or group work and has access to the University Wi-Fi, projector and a networked computer. The social space has a number of sofas and seating to take a break from study.
