Important information
Telephone fraud still targeting International Students
There has been a recent rise in telephone fraud aimed at International Students and we advise all International students to be vigilant. The fraudsters will call from a private number and will pretend to be UK Border Agency or part of the government. They may talk about out of date personal information, ‘CISA’ number, payment of money or deportation with you. Their aim is to get your passport details, money or personal financial information for their benefit. If you are contacted by anyone saying they are from the UK Border Agency do not give them any personal information or send money to them.
If you are concerned or have had a telephone like this please contact International Student Support on 0290 874 844 or email iss@cf.ac.uk.
The advisers can offer you advice and support in the following areas:
Academic Technology Approval Scheme (ATAS)
Applying for a student visa in your home country
Biometric Residence Permits (BRPs)
Bringing family as your dependants
Bringing family or friends for a visit
Extending your student visa through International Student Support
