Opening our doors
22 April 2012
The University’s annual Open Day event will include Thrive branding with specific activity promoted from the Thrive microsite.
New Open Day activity will embrace the use of social media with enhanced use of Twitter and Facebook to add to visitors’ experience on the day and extend the reach off campus.
The capture of additional contact information on the day like email addresses, followers to Facebook and twitter will help drive applications for 2013 by providing us with further means of communication among a group that has already indicated interest in Cardiff.
For the first time, Thrive “hotspots” to complement more traditional activity will be dotted around campus. The hotspots will provide additional information on the city, accommodation and bursaries and scholarships.
We will also be encouraging our visitors to chat about their day on Twitter and get them to check in to the University on Facebook to spread the message to their friends back home.
We want all of the Cardiff community – including staff - to join in the activity on Twitter, by welcoming students to open day, sending Tweets about your interactions with prospective students, and talks you may be running.
