Cardiff on film

Historical highlights and major awards are just some of the features of a new short film that celebrates the University and its achievements.

Initially produced to mark Cardiff’s 125th anniversary in 2008, the film has been updated and is now available for members of staff to use as a resource.

Starting with the University’s creation in 1883, the film tells the story of Cardiff and its founders, before moving on to some of the landmark occasions and major events in the University’s history.

Staff and their achievements are the main focus of the film, which includes an interview with Professor Sir Martin Evans, University President and recipient of the 2007 Nobel Prize for Medicine.

Speaking about the film, Sandra Elliott, Director of Communications and International Relations said: “As a promotional tool, the film is a great introduction to Cardiff University and I hope staff will use it wherever they can, in their presentations, in welcome addresses to new students or visits abroad.”

The film can be used as an introduction to the University on websites, in seminars, lectures, conferences and more.
