Performance: ‘Cardiff Reds’ Awards 2013-14

2 June 2014

Cardiff University Sport recent held its Annual End of Year High Performance Programme Review and ‘Cardiff Reds’ presentation.

This year the High Performance Programme (HPP) supported a record 75 students across 30 different sports. The Programme aims to provide structured support to individuals enabling them to excel in both their academic and sporting careers whilst raising the profile and standard of sport at Cardiff University. Since it’s rebranding in 2010-11 the programme has developed a strong network of support services and access to newly developed facilities for its members which together provide an excellent training environment as those involved continue to study towards an academic degree at the University.

'Cardiff Reds' was a new initiative introduced last year and is designed to recognise the HPP’s exceptional performing graduates each year. To become a 'Cardiff Red' members of the HPP must have contributed to the programme and the University's sporting profile significantly throughout their time as a student. Additionally, they must be achieving at the highest possible level internationally (outside of the University system) with the aim of continuing to progress their career after graduating from University.
