The School of Nursing and Midwifery Studies prides itself on pursuing research and scholarship of the highest quality. It undertakes theoretically informed and empirically rigorous research which stands at the forefront of nursing and midwifery policy debates at international, national and local levels
Staff in the Cardiff School of Nursing and Midwifery Studies work collaboratively with other centres and networks including the Joanna Briggs Institute, CESAGen, Improvement Science Network, Mental Health Research Network Cymru and the All Wales Midwifery and Reproductive Health Research Forum
This section includes articles from journals of high international standing including the Journal of Advanced Nursing, Sociology of Health and Illness and Quality and Safety in Healthcare. Also included are Monographs, books and conference items.

The School offers an MSc in Advanced Practice, Postgraduate Diploma/Master of Science in Specialist Community Public Health Nursing, Postgraduate Certificate in Non-Medical Prescribing and Postgraduate Certificate Programmes
The School research office gives guidance and information on grant application procedures and provides support throughout the life cycle of a project. All research proposed by staff and students is reviewed by the Research Review and Ethics Screening Committee
