Brand new birthing bed for clinical skills teaching

Midwifery students will benefit from a new obstetric bed delivered to the TDS Clinical Simulation Suite today. Birthing beds use innovative technologies to enable safer birthing experiences, and utilising the real thing as part of students' clinical skills training enables simulated scenarios that are as close as possible to actual clinical situations.
Simulation scenarios mean that relevant clinical skills can be taught and successfully mastered in a risk-free learning environment, better preparing students to be able to provide safe competent care before they encounter actual clinical practice environments or situations.
The delivery of the Affinity Birthing Bed will ensure that our midwives become confident and adept at using the equipment and technologies used in actual practice.
