Starts: 27 February 2014
Did you know that the 24th – February – 2nd March is national Eating Disorders Awareness Week 2014? The week is a chance to raise awareness and understanding of this serious mental illness, challenge stereotypes and stigmas and raise funds for Beat.
This year we have a clear message to raise awareness
Raising awareness - Everybody knows somebody
Beat staff and volunteers are always struck by how many people tell you a personal story about eating disorders when you say you work or volunteer for Beat. We therefore want to use Eating Disorders Awareness Week to spread the message that Everybody knows somebody – eating disorders are more common than you think. You can support the campaign by putting up posters in your workplace, school, GP surgery or university, talking about your own experience or holding your own information stand or awareness raising event. We will also be launching an Everybody knows somebody film during the week and would love you to share it on social media .
Beat Cymru will be holding a stand in room 3.19 of the TDS building in UHW on the 27th of February, 1 -2pm, so come along and find out more about Beat, the services we offer and how you can get involved!
