Advancing Community Nursing - 40 credits (NR3170)

Nurses have a key role in leading effective and modern primary and community care services.  To enable them to fulfil this role they need a thorough grounding in the principles of leadership and change management.

This module focuses on developing community nursing practice and allows the student the opportunity to build on the clinical experience and taught components of modules previously undertaken.  It will bring this learning together in the development of a dissertation.

A secondary, but equally important aim is to foster self-motivation and self directed study.  This should facilitate the development of a personal ethos of life long learning and allow the student to develop a constructive and questioning attitude to change in practice, enabling them to take an active role in influencing local services.

Overall aims of module
