Postgraduate Certificate in Education for Health Professionals

This is a postgraduate certificate in education, primarily developed to meet the needs of nurses and midwives, but it is equally relevant to other health professionals.

The Postgraduate Certificate comprises of two modules that are credit rated.  Each taught module offers 30 credits.

Students will study the following modules:

Facilitating Learning and Teaching focuses on evidence based approaches to facilitating learning, teaching, inter professional learning and quality assurance in higher education and clinical practice.

Assessment and Evaluation focuses on assessment, evaluation, change management and academic leadership.  

On successful completion of  two Masters level modules of 30 credits each it is possible for the 60 credits to be incorporated into the MSc in Advanced Practice programme. Please note: this must take place within 3 years. 

Additionally, for nurses and midwives wishing to record this qualification with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) each module will provide 180 hours of associated practise which, when combined, will give the 360 hours of associated practise required by the NMC.  The School has been awarded NMC accreditation for this programme.
