Practice Teacher (NRT175)
This module has been specifically developed to prepare Specialist Community Public Health Nurses (SCPHN) to undertake the role of practice teacher, but it could be accessed by other health professionals.
The module aims to facilitate a critical review of current theory and opinion in relation to professional and educational development. Students will be encouraged to analyse and synthesise this information in the context of their own professional practice. It will explore the knowledge and skills practitioners apply in practice when they support and assess students undertaking NMC approved programmes. It will emphasise the responsibility and accountability of a practice teacher’s requirement to assess that students have achieved proficiencies for entry to the register, as a SCPHN.
