Evidencing Learning in Professional Practice (NRT148)
It is essential to enable you as students at Masters level (Level 7 CQFW) to critically evaluate your work within your professional sphere of practice through reflection, and synthesise this in relation to your on-going role and professional development. This module will be based upon you as students defining and demonstrating the achievement of self identified learning outcomes. The learning outcomes will be intrinsically linked to an aspect of your professional sphere of practice.
The module is designed to optimise learning by providing a structured process of reflection and critical analysis. A seminar/workshop approach is used to introduce you to key concepts of self-directed learning. Directed learning and independent study will be informed by your agreed learning outcomes. Tutorial support is provided by lecturers in relation to developing and agreeing learning outcomes and to support you in the development of critical commentaries.
A 'buddy scheme', pairing students together, will be encouraged within the module to support directed learning. The buddy scheme will enable you as students to support one another in critically evaluating your work within your professional sphere of practice. The module will also provide a suitable basis for accreditation of learning from work based programmes.
The summative assessment will be a written reflective critical commentary which demonstrates achievement of your learning outcomes.
