Collaborative Working in Eating Disorders (NRT140)

This first postgraduate eating disorders module in Wales will support the implementation of the Welsh Assembly
Government (2009) Eating Disorders Framework for Wales.

This module will play a critical role in helping to establish a collaborative working ethos in the new specialist eating
disorders services in particular for those who wish to develop an applied knowledge and advanced practice skills with
eating disorders, as they present within generic health, social care and educational settings.

This Masters generic module, offered within a taught postgraduate programme of study, has been planned, designed
and will be delivered in collaboration with sufferers, carers, multi-professional lead clinicians and academic staff.

Advanced practice skills focus in four key areas:

  • Assessment and engagement
  • Formulation
  • Treatment plans
  • Risk management

The 30 credit module can be studied as a stand alone module or as part of the MSc in Advanced Practice programme.
