Non-Medical Prescribing 2 (NRT083)
The aims of this module are:
- to provide the evidence base for prescribing decisions to evaluate their prescribing decisions.
- to introduce models of consultation, dealing with both culture and ethnic needs with individuals and client groups, dealing with patient health beliefs and expectations, developing concordant approaches to prescribing.
This will enable the professional to prescribe within the current team context and differentiate between independent and supplementary prescribing roles:
- to appreciate the influences on and of prescribing practice from the patient position, the patient’s physical and mental conditions, colleagues and personal perspectives, in addition to wider policy agendas.
- to ensure evidence based prescribing and to highlight the legal and professional frameworks for accountability and responsibility in relation to independent prescribing.
This module must be completed with module NRT082 Non-Medical Prescribing 1.
