Postgraduate Research
There are facilities, for suitable candidates, to register for the degrees of MPhil or PhD. These higher research degrees enable students who have the appropriate qualifications to study a particular topic in-depth. These programmes offer knowledge and expertise for a career in research, or to pursue advanced opportunities in the field of nursing.Research Areas
The School welcomes applications from students interested in pursuing a research degree in nursing, health and social care.
Entry requirements
A minimum of a 2:1 Honours Degree or equivalent or a Masters degree in a relevant subject, awarded by a recognised university or equivalent. Please note that candidates whose first language is not English will normally be expected to obtain a minimum IELTS score of 6.5.
Duration
PhD: three years full-time, MPhil: one year full-time.
Part-time opportunities are available.
Start dates
2 January 2012; 1 April 2012; 1 July 2012 or 1 October 2012
Assessment
Submission of a thesis and viva voce examination (oral).
