18 bed low secure forensic mental health care for men



Those diagnosed with a mental illness or personality disorder who are subject to the restrictions of the Mental Health Act (1983) (2007).   Clients are identified as having complex continuing mental health care needs and may also have acute care needs.


Key Learning Opportunities: 

Assessment of need and risk, including pre-admission assessments.  Writing and reviewing care plans, writing reports, attending Individual Care Review meetings, Mental Health Review Tribunals and Hospital Manager’s meetings.  Taking part fully in client centred activities – therapeutic, social and educational and assisting clients with activities of daily living. Liaising with external agencies including families and carers.


Preparation For Practice:

This can be used as a management placement.
