Remit:
Neurology & Acute Stroke Assessment (plus on-ward thrombolysis from January 2010)
Clients:
Stroke, occasional non-surgical head injury, occasional MND
Key Learning Opportunities:
Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists have therapy rooms within the unit. Speech and Language Therapist, Dietician and Specialist Nurse visit on a daily basis.
Preparation for Practice:
Ward is very Multi-Disciplinary orientated with regular discharge planning and daily handover. Low patient turn around and a ‘coordinator’ working outside the day’s care teams
